Valencia Basket begins 2019 with a demanding start of the 7DAYS EuroCup Top 16 vs. Unicaja Málaga
The new year starts for Valencia Basket with a hard commitment on the 7DAYS EuroCup Top16 round 1 game hosting Unicaja Málaga (Wednesday 2, 20:45h, Fonteta, Teledeporte) in a direct confrontation between the two teams better classified in the Regular Season within this group G (both teams finished the first round with an 8-2). The taronja squad will try to extend its good performance dynamics (it already has eight wins in a row) against an opponent that has faced up to seven times in European competition in the two previous seasons and with a positive balance of 5-2.
For this, it seems decisive to maintain the good defensive level exhibited in the Regular Season against a rival that comes being the best attack of the competition. Neither team has left any home game in this 7DAYS EuroCup, so the support of the Fonteta must be important in the development of the game. To try to start this second phase, forward Fernando San Emeterio (who was injured in the femoral biceps of his left leg in last week's match against Tecnyconta Zaragoza) and Sergi García (right wrist fracture) are sidelined, although the taronja squad recovers the presence in the roster of the point guard Antoine Diot.
